Influence of Cover Crop in Cotton

The seven color classified image above shows a cotton field in South Alabama. The image was taken at 12,000 feet and has a two-meter ground resolution. This field had strips of sunflowers planted last year. Everything else was planted in wheat. The cotton was planted without any tillage. The medium to dark green bands (Class 6 & 7) are the locations where the sunflowers were planted.
The picture at the top shows the sunflowers planted in strips with the wheat planted all around it.
The second image has been taken towards the north at the south end of the field. The right side of the picture shows the taller and bushier plants that were planted where previously the sunflowers were planted.
